Van Gogh's STARRY NIGHT with Markers!

Van Gogh's STARRY NIGHT with Markers! - image 1 - student project

I just finished Christine Nishiyama class on different "Art History" styles and wanted to experiment with them so, this was perfect.

First, I started by sketching the painting in my sketchbook. I drew the cypress tree first as suggested to help keep scale.

Then, I lightly erased the lines and started using light colors to block out sections.

I made sure to use light-colored markers and slowly add darker colors to be safe.

Lastly, I added some highlights with white acrylic paint!

And, I think it turned out pretty good! Thanks for taking a look :D

Cheers!
