The project was drawing a dog portrait from a photo reference using pencil crayons on a coloured background.

I learned more about my own practice and how I can improve my style by tackling this puppy. I laid it down with a pencil in freehand without tracing in this demonstration and missed getting an accurate likeness. I may try this again and trace the photo next time. However, the surprise was that the owner of this dog recognized this as their beloved best friend anyway. She loves it. And this class came out of the exercise as well.
