Thank you for the kind words. Yours is light and elegant, painted with experience. Mine has been forced, yours is still much better.
I recently improved a picture from a few months ago, it was a big difference. I can't save everything, but I can make it look better because I learn more techniques that I can apply. I will have to try this a few more times.

A subject with this much detail is pretty hard to paint loose. I think you did a really good job of a hard subject. The water and the sky are great. The buildings are the right colour. The only thing I think you could do if you decide to do this again is add a little bit more texture here and there in the buildings - tiny hints of contrasting colours (wet into wet) here and there. I think you should be proud, this is a really tough one!

I think I need to paint it more loosely. The left side seemed to be too much in focus, so I calmed it down with shadows. I think that's ok now.
