Sponging - Inspirational Guidance
After looking through everyone else's thoughtfully produced projects, it gave me an idea of what this project is looking for. Inspired. This is where it leads me.
1) My current obsession seems to be surrounded by acrylic pouring. The different techniques and colours, the vast array of colours that can flourish into such abstract images. I've been mesmerised and I can definitely feel as though it is an obsession. It's fun, it fulfils something in me I never thought paint could. Each piece is unique and what I find I'm most drawn to is anything that comes close to resembling seascapes, or ocean scenes.
2) I have found myself dreaming of travel. To distant countries that hold a view of majestic and awe-inspiring mountainscapes, oceans with almost clear but crystalline depths. White sands. Something that could inspire daily life. Ever present. Slow down. Breathe in. Express colours.
3) Cats are always an ever-present obsession. From their unique personalities to their colouring. To their energy. I've always doodled but so far none of my cat-like creations has sparked a 'YES' in me. Plus the vast array of ways you can use all the different tools to create artwork. I have yet to create an artwork of our beautiful feline creatures that I love but that will always be on my to do list.
4) Blues, pinks, purples and blacks have been cropping up a lot in terms of colour palettes and I'm not sure if that could be listing as an example for this project or not.
5) Landscapes and scenery probably fits into the travel category I listed above but Cherry blossoms suddenly come to mind. Japanese style landscape drawings. Though Thomas Kinkade is not a Japanese style artist I have found myself thinking of his artwork a lot lately alongside Monet.
6) Pirate themes keep cropping up as cliche as that sounds but not sure if that's because of all the ocean aspects or not? Darker themes creeping in. Will mull on this one for a time and see what my brain comes up with.
As soon as I've created something. Even if it's just a doodle. I shall attach to this commentary for the project.
