Delighted

My final project: Charcoal original transferred to Gelli plate, pulled print to fix charcoal, then painted acrylic background, shirt, and hat. Next I used a stencil to add a pattern to the shirt and brayered over that to knock it back a bit. Then I added color to the face, neck, and ribbon with Neocolor 2 crayons and fixed them with clear gesso, sometimes coloring my palette and adding clear gesso to that for a wash of color. Last I added two little dragonflies. Delighted - image 1 - student project

The following were my warm-up pieces.

Charcoal on left, Gelli plate transfer on right. I love how different her eyes look in the transfer.

Charcoal on left, Gelli plate transfer on right. This was based on a very loose piece I found on Pinterest. Mine is very similar to the basic features of artist's original, but doing that really helped me get a feel for sketching more loosely. Will practice that technique more and hopefully build up some loose muscle memory!

Charcoal on left, Gelli plate transfer on right. I love how both of these came out. I will do more with the transfer image later. For now I am at the end of my trial subscription, but will post on Instagram when I do something with it.

This was a fun-der-ful class Jerney! Thank you!
