It's ugly, but it works

I thought I was following instructions well enough, but it never did gel as in the video. Do you have the cooking temperature? And how long should it actually take to gel up? (I'm almost sure I lost a lot of moisture and overcooked while waiting, but no volcano). It was more like packing a cheesecake base than pouring it into the mold.

Other than that, it is soap, lathers well and I feel clean enough after use.

Now, how do I make it snowy white? It is supposed to be a holy soap with frankincense, myrrh, and sandalwood. Got the Anglican aroma right, but the intensity wrong, so more like an unknown disciple rather than St Peter.

Also, does anyone know a recipe that mimics the fresh motor oil fragrance? - a company in the USA does have it but they don't ship to my country.

I thought this was going to be easy, but now I wonder, would I get better results using the cold process, and if so, how long would it take to cure? (I think this batch will last at least two months).
