Mind Like Water

My statement
I want to achieve mind like water. I want emotional equanimity and will achieve this by permanently removing distractions from my life. My email inboxes will have all emails filtered into APPROPRIATE folders. There will be a timeframe (year or quarter) assigned to all my digital and paper files that are related to life projects I am working on.
My deadline for this is Sunday, April 2, 2023.
I will read this statement out loud in the morning and evening.
What I have to give up
- I will give up watching all news while I work.
- I will take time off work to free up some extra time for this. I will take 2 or 3 Fridays off during the timeframe of this project.
- I will give up email newsletters, and youtube subscriptions that do not provide me with long term value to my life.
- I will cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner less often during this project.
How will I do this?
- I will create and document a complete process for organizing my digital files into actionable steps and folders following the GTD method. I will create a list of at least 30 different action items that I can use to decide how to move projects forward.
- I will create lists of accounts and my digital devices that need to be cleared of junk info that clouds my thinking. Include work accounts.
- If I find myself unsure about whether I should keep or get rid of an email subscription, I will write on a list this particular item to remind me of it later on, and unsubscribe anyway.
- I will create an inbox just for things I need to research when I’m at my computer.
- I will give up android apps, and website accounts, text messages, that negatively effect my emotions for no real purpose. I will look over my browsing history for things to block. I will use my website blocking extension and other blocking tools to enforce this.
- To save cooking time…
- I will buy 20 or more instant oatmeal packets, instant coffee, ready to eat chicken, and healthy frozen meals.
- I will make a list of healthy restaurants and meals I can pick up to make meal time quicker.
