It's funny I put red on the throat and then wondered: Do male ruby-throated hummingbirds ever sit on the nest? The answer is "no". I learned something else interesting about hummingbirds. Why they put so many spider webs in their nest - it's so the nest can expand as the chicks grow. Wonder how many years of evolution it took them to figure that out.Anyway, I put some white "spider webs" in the nest.
