Orchid in Bloom
I practiced with pencil drawings before moving on to painting. This time I decided to try out a water brush. I went back with 2 other smaller brushes for a few details. I thought the aerial roots were fun to paint.
Pencil practice on blooms, stems, and buds.

Pencil practice on leaves and the parts of a bloom.

Next, I moved on to painting the leaf and bloom.

The building of an orchid plant.

The final orchid painting. Sorry, this is posting sideways. I tried many orientations and this site keeps turning the image.

Thank you Anne for your wonderful class. Any thoughts or suggestions are always welcome. Thank you to those who view my project and leave any remarks. I appreciate them all.
PS. Here is the paint kit I used for this project. a 3" X 8" box.

The sponge fits over the small pallet wells, to use and/or stow away.
