Oh wow, these are so fun! How did you find the process of using your 'other' hand in this? The outcomes look joyful.

These were a lot of fun even though my right hand kept on nudging the left one to return the paintbrush back. There is always the sub conscious need for making a perfect circle and all my left hand could do were make blobs. My right hand wasn’t happy at all

I really get that perfectionism, it can be a tricky thing to really be okay with things being not quite perfect - like our rational mind might say it's fine but our subconscious can have a different opinion!  I'm glad despite that you were able to have fun with these.  And I think the fun shines through because they are genuinely pleasing and joyful to look at (for me)

I did have fun with these. Something that I learnt this year is that it’s really nice to have my own personal sketchbook where I can be free and not have every page look like a perfect painting. My sketchbook should be a source of joy to me and a place where I don’t have to prove anything to anyone. I even had a disagreement with my niece today on this. She feels that every single page in her sketchbook should be perfect and she tears out the pages that aren’t. We finally agreed to disagree

Since I couldn’t convince either of my kids to join me to paint, I decided to try the exercises with my non dominant hand.
