There's a big difference between watching a course and actually working through it. Quite a long time ago I just watched this course and didn't think that much of it. The production was rather basic compared to other things I had been seeing, but when I came back and gave it another try and worked my way through it I really appreciated the experience. The exercise itself was great, and since doing the trees, I did a follow up with my other bottle of black ink on these non-seasonal jack o' lanterns. I really valued observing the use of a syringe for measuring out ink for the washes, and the varnished wood for the paper to be adhered to, and the clever use of the egg container for the washes.
