Story Telling on holiday in Devon
Having done the class I tried to put it into practice to take photos that told a better story of my holiday in Devon, UK.
I was really pleased with my attempts at capturing something that was moving. I spent several hours as a passenger in the car and learnt how to photograph the caravan that we were towing. (cover image)

I then used that skill later on to capture the water at one of our favourite rivers on Dartmoor.

I tried to play with reflections too, to show the context of the photo. I love the sky reflected in the rock pool and also the organic/inorganic contrasts.

The reflection in my dogs eye is of me taking the photo. I just snapped when he looked right at me.

Contrasting organic and inorganic is something that fascinates me. A tiny Dor Beetle on the road surface just highlighted the iridescence.

The size of the wheel left behind in an old quarry also looked like a little cog from an old wrist watch - strangely out of place in the natural landscape.

I wish I had got the lichen better in focus but I just love the way its tiny form matches the hills behind.
Even when the setting is stunning we sometimes focus on what is right in front of us.

Thank you for all the classes - they are so interesting and accessible for a beginner like me.
