Mindfulness Mandalas -10 days

Teacher Jane Snedden Peever is working with us as the drawing of the Mandala is the focal and lengthens our mindfulness state.

I apologize that I did it quasi-freehand and used a CD sticker for the main circle. I did not realize the second explanation was the graph layout.

For me the 10 days will be to lengthen my meditation state ( I love these lessons after meditating).

I could feel the anxiety of not following your lesson exactly and feel the shallow breath and even not breathing. As the teacher asked to focus and feel the different sizes of shapes to guide our breath, I could feel change and slower breathing. Really good lesson!

I think because I meditated be for the teacher’s lecture, I did not have too many thoughts other than listening and drawing out the patterns for the mandala. Also my breathing was slow.

Grate full ness Mandala

this was difficult … keeping my thoughts on what I was grateful for would get interrupted by thoughts of criticism of drawing. Using meditation techniques of naming, letting go and return to Gratitude as I drew really helped. My breathing stayed calm and slow. Quite an excercise- thank you.

Sound Awareness

I work very early in the morning… Today’s Mandala let me focus on quet even my cat is not up yet to remind me it’s Food o’clock… Now I hear him, he’s coming in.

Kai( Diana’s Dog) sound Mandala

I drew this one because being in my friend’s home … her dog is the main sound echoing through the house. In the back yard, Kai howls at the first layer- birds with spirals being their sound, there is an Orange tabby sound asleep in the sun— causing him to howl. The last row squirrels and their chatter.

Touch Awareness

Really wonderful exercise… ease to keep breath calm… I realize I hold my drawing hand tensely as I work. I like feeling the flow as I drew.

Emotions

I found I was focusing on a song as I was working on this… checking in on emotions and I found I got irritated at myself when I made mistakes.

Taste and describing the world using taste words.

The beverage I use first thing in the morning is water. I had it as drops in my mandala.
