Feel the love
Hi! My name is Margarita Bernal, originally from Colombia and living in Ireland. I am a graphic designer, illustrator and learning surface pattern design, so was very exciting to work in this project!
I have include my process from the initial stages, fundamentals, color ways, CADS and some mockups!
I draw on my notebook some geometrical shapes combined with some floral and other fun elements, this part of the process brought me back when I was teenager as I use to create diary calendar books with friends and family birthdays, photo collages, songs and involved a lot markers styles and fun stickers! Lol! so good entertainment on my free time and in some boring classes at that time:)
Anyway, this was a good process to start, I did select some of color palette to use on the scanned drawings (but you will see I add other color scheme at the end).
Was a lot work involve to clean some of the lines and make it look more clean but I learnt a lot!

Practicing the Fundamentals was fun at the end but a bit confusing in some stages to make sure all the elements repeat properly when I tested the patterns. Silvia's instructions where very clear and it helped me to organise my process and I got new tricks to work on it more quickly! I really appreciate it! here is some of the elements I use to create patterns.

Colorways its really a smart solution to create more options on your portfolio. Here you really need to use your patience to separate each color, as I used lots of them on my design but was a good practice to use photoshop tools and see how much you can have different variants for different styles or products.

Thank you Silvia, I learnt so much and thank you for providing all the CADS and resources and delivery such an incredible tutorials for each step on the way! Thank you also for introduce me to Redbubble as I find it very addictive to see how all the patterns works in different products! So much fun really!
