Experimenta con acuarelas: eclipse lunar

Hi Ken, Really great job on the shading of your moon! Also nice sky wash; you kept the colour nice and dark. It looks like you maybe use some white gouache for the stars but it worked so good for you! I like your trees also but would caution you to try and have them less evenly spaced...it's OK to have some overlapping others and it makes for a better composition. I like the tree 2nd from the lft best as it has more random branches that don't come just from the sides and they kind of run into each other....nice! Also really like small one in the center but again, it could be better if placed somewhere else. These are such easy fixes! All you have to do is add a few more trees to irregularize the composition. Maybe make them tilt slight to the inside of your painting...just slightly. Thanks for taking my class Ken and feel free to reach out if there is anything else I can help you with. best, m

Melinda,  Just completed a third one. Using masking fluid rather than gouache definitely makes the stars look more natural.  Thanks for your comments suggestions.  Cheers Ken

Wow Ken!  Good for you!  I like your earthy looking moon and your sunish one. Your shading skill is good.  Glad you tried a different colour scheme also, it reads well as a night sky but I think it could be a little darker. I like your shooter in the gray one best as you softened the edges so it glows more.  Also trees are WAY better in that one. Having them lean a little towards the center gives one the idea they are looking up.  Nice moon on the gray one also.  Keep up the great work!
