Garrett Nolan (MC: Main Character)
Likability: No character is likable until audience develops empathy toward him. But because of Garrett's backstory and his wound and fear that produced his persona I would say more so the audience will have more sympathy than empathy. His first wife left him because of their philosophical differences. She was a believer and he wasn't. Both his parents were also Christians. His father was tyrannical. He vows to never love again because the pain of loss is too great. But then he meets Rachel. I guess up to the Inciting Incident, Garrett is about 50% Likable.
Competence: Garrett is very competent because he is an author who supports himself and his live-in girlfriend in a lavish lifestyle.
Persistent: Because his girlfriend, Rachel Wilson, leaves him (Inciting Incident) on the very night he was going to propose, he is not too persistent. (When they met she was not a believer but just became one, and she leaves because he refused... again.) At the first plot point he decides to go to her place and give a pseudo salvation. Satan hears this and intervenes by having a minion cause a wreck. UP to this point, his persistent level is about 15% The rest of the story is Garrett fighting the minions and Satan himself with heavenly help. A tropical cyclone turned hurricane, along with the minion, causes the wreck. (This hurricane is an ACTUAL event that happened in 2016 in the great NW and Vancouver Island.) This is all I have.
