Nurturer of Life

She has always been
Magnificent and flawless
Endowed with a variety of forms
The mountains and hills that give you
A complete view of her beauty
Swamps that shelter amphibians, and reptiles
And offer sponges & reservoirs as crisis mechanisms
Islands with a medley of birds
That bless our mornings with grand melodies
Deserts that are rich in minerals and oil
Forests, habitat for the elephants, zebras,
Monkeys that jump from one tree to another
Oceans, lakes, and flatlands on which
The sunset descends so elegantly.
She saves space for every creature.
While we try to urbanize every bit of her
And leave no room for other species
We claim to be in love with her
Saving for years to take trips
To where she is most beautiful
And still full of life.
We mostly ignore her presence.
Only stealing shots of her
The few times we notice
To show off on our socials
Even with our continuous attempts
To damage and kill her,
She heals, flourishes, and evolves.
