I have been creating simple watercolor and colored pencil patterns on my sketchbook and they seem perfect to get started with pattern design, because the background is clean and there aren't too many elements to worry about.

I followed the instructions from the video using the offset technique. I also moved some of the ladybugs to make a more coherent repeat and tilted some elements to make it more interesting:

 

I then added a new layer from background in white, and I am pretty happy with the result.

How should I save or export my pattern?

Thanks so much for this class Ohn Mar Win! It was perfect for my level of knowledge and I loved that you encouraged the experimentation and intuition when using photoshop :)
