Here's an example for a simple layout: one drawing is placed in the center with text surrounding it. I used two inks for the different elements.

Here's an example for how to add color. On this page of wagtail sketches, I used color, although sparingly, to guide the eye around the page.

This page shows how I design sketchbook pages with a lot of different elements. I use a mixture of spontaneous sketching and planning ahead so that I get a well-balanced page.
