Summerhood Adventure Products

I found the section on thinking through scale and which patterns might be best for which products very helpful. I often get hung up on scale as I design my collections, forgetting that I can always re-scale in Illustrator. So that was a nice reminder.

I used the home decor template with one of my collections to get a feel for applying my designs to products.

For my dream product line, I'd love to have one of my collections on a selection of "adventure gear" items. There are a few companies out there that cater to these goods. I decided to look for moodboard inspiration from the company United By Blue, since their product line is exactly what I was envisioning for my dream products. I pulled a bunch of images from their site:

I picked some items that already had patterns and others that didn't but that I could see working with patterns.

I used my "Summerhood" pattern collection for the products because the collection theme is 100% in line with adventure gear:
