I applied your technique but I used a shibori-inspired tie dye method instead of dipping it loosely. The technique worked really well and I wish my camera can capture the vibrancy of the color better. Admittedly, I should probably put more thought to the folds and ties in order to get a better pattern.  I plan on doing this more in the future, maybe as a personalized gift for people.
