Hello Paulette and thank you so much for sharing your painting. I’m sorry I only just noticed it. It’s really lovely, and I especially like the warm colors and the expressive feeling in the piece.I know the puddle technique can seem simple at first, but it actually takes some practice to control well. The most important part is finding the right balance in the paint mixture, how much pigment and egg emulsion are used, and also developing the brush technique to achieve those soft transparent layers. With practice, this creates a beautiful luminous effect. If the paint applied too thick, it can affect the surface over time, so learning this balance is part of the process.At the same time, your painting already has such a strong expressive quality that I honestly would not overwork it. Here is my practice ,my 1st attempt at using egg emulsion to paint with. Really like the end results but see I must practice,practice,practice.
