First I tried the overlapping circles pattern in a couple of different colours:

Then I tried the multi-colour random circles. I went with a Christmas-y colour palette:

It's not perfect, and could have been improved with a little more time - but it was just what I needed for a little Christmas bauble project I was working on :)
