Bit late in the season for butterflies but lovely nonetheless

Bit late in the season for butterflies but lovely nonetheless - image 1 - student projectI scaled the butterflies down to 50% and used some textured scraps of anodised aluminium from another project to make the butterflies and then riveted them to a lightly hammered daisy. I think riveting is a great way of adding colour to silver.

I cut out a full sized butterfly and then realised it would be much too big for the wooden beads I have ordered so I textured it with a flower punch and turned it into a pendant.

Very pleased with the way the earrings turned out - the riveting was surprisingly easy.

I put the wooden beads and flowers in the wrong class so have moved them to where they should be. The riveting has been a big hit with the other ladies in my silversmithing class, many of whom are now trying out Skillshare.
