Hi there! I'm Dana Batho, designer and founder of Peacock & Fig! 

I’m well known for my easy to follow tutorials and fun colourful cross stitch and hand embroidery patterns (and sometimes quite snarky designs). My patterns have been featured in Cross Stitch Crazy magazine, Just CrossStitch Magazine, on DMC.com, and I’m also a regular designer for XStitch Magazine. My tutorials have been featured on sites like BuzzFeed and Hello Giggles, and they have had millions of views online. I'm also a surface pattern designer (I loooove wallpaper) and illustrator. 

I've been creating art my entire life, and did four years of art and design training in New Zealand. I returned to my art and craft life after an injury while serving in the Canadian Armed Forces forced me to leave that career path. Through that experience I learned how calming stitching is, and how much fun it can be. Since 2015 I've been creating tutorials and patterns to help other stitchers get their stitchy groove on and learn to relax by stabbing something 20,000 times. 

I live in gorgeous Victoria BC close to the inner harbour  -- Victoria constantly inspires my designs with the year-round gardens and beautiful architecture.
