I used a watercolour pad not a block for this painting 100 per cent cotton and i used english red watercolour paint same as tutor ,and gouache for the highlights not acrylic paint (i used the supplies I had) it was not easy to to achieve all the tones mid dark and light, but I think if I practice this way of painting with.... one colour eventually I will see better results, Im not a fan of the splashing technique,, so did not do, and i could have lifted the paint better on the right side of the face, cheekbones, and under the chin,but this is my first attempt, thank you again.
