Hey, honestly, it sounds like you're on the right track. It's just a matter of time and practice - it sounds like you have an understanding of how a basic song is put together, and some basic melodies.

My advice is to just keep practicing. Don't worry about getting feedback from others, as they can often make you feel bad, or push you in the wrong direction.  Each day work on your music, and within 2-3 months, look back at your old projects.. that will be enough encouragement for you with the improvement you'll see in your early years :)
