The title and idea came about when my eldest daughter was excited to learn we would be helping shovel dirt for a family project. There is plenty of work to be done to flesh out the concept. Word count isn't a problem for this story. I plan on following up with part II of this class and learning more about the illustration process as well. 

Edit: I have made my book dummy and added a third category about dirt and its many colors. I'm not sure if I like it or not. I constructed the dummy per instructions in the class and there were more pages to fill than I had originally intended for a concept book.  The dummy book is very useful. Especially taping the text down so that rearranging is cleaner and easier.
