The family unit today is a joke.

Fathers are gone, their children are woke.

Schools now charge, the system is broke.

Parents unhappy, their rights they invoke.

Books filled with smut; schools try to cloak.

Media involved, the fighting they stoke.

 

I like poetry because it gives the author a perform to protest, agree with, speak freely, and just express feelings and thoughts in a safe way. If someone is offended by the words, that is their choice.

I enjoy reading about stuff I don't always agree with because it opens my eyes to others and their view points. It can be educational and it can also inspire me to write about or against something I have read. 

I'm old but I have always enjoyed writing but never took it too seriously. I have really started to work on this and I enjoy it. There a lot of classes on the site that are helpful I enjoyed your class.
