Winter Xmas card

I've been eager to paint snow. I haven't practice negative painting much and I feel like snow is something that will keep me practicing that. I really liked the natural edges of the paper from the class but my arches paper doesn't have those pretty edges so I decided to risk it and used Khadi paper (my first time using it, I bought it long ago and it was sitting there, waiting for the right project). Here are some pictures of my process:

(ooops messy desk cover, I'm so used to those stains that they sort of disappear from my perception... until I take a picture. At this point, I realized it look awkward to have just a tiny bit of green showing, so I got brave and experimenting by cutting more of the cover page.

The next pictures show more accurate colors of how the card actually looks. I also added W&N shimmering medium I got from my friend Cynthia when we made an art challenge/exchange. I love how the snow sparkles! It's not very visible here, but it looks lovely in real life.

I also scanned it and it looks too light, but I actually liked this other "version" that is soft and dreamy. Now you can see all sides of the card:

What a great class! Thank you Melinda.
