I definitely found this one challenging and nearly gave up about ten times. I made several mistakes with my initial wash by brushing it in the wrong place, most notably the water at the front of the painting. So I decided that could be either ice or sky reflection and added a bit more blue to the upper left sky so the water reflection would look natural (I hope 😋), and then defined the river bank with some gouache to try and make the difference clear. I also made my mist wash under the middle ground trees too dark. I think I improved this by adding a wash of pearl white (I love the sparkles 😊), which softened and lightened that area. I almost felt like every time I picked up my brush with this one I made a mistake. After all that I am not too unhappy with the end result. So thank you, Kris for a great learning experience.
