Thank you Julia for this inspiring class! My inspiration for this painting came last Spring from the flowers around my area i noticed on daily walks - poppies, cornflowers, harebells and kingcups. I chose to use gouache with pen & ink - I'm a pen & ink novice so a few lessons were learnt here, eg test the grain of the paper first to ensure smooth lines! I also find it hard to keep it simple as i really love to add in detail to capture the character of each flower.
