Whimsical
A bit of fun after a few weeks intensive printmaking! These are in gouache, but Im going to do some in watercolour.
I made a colour wheel with my watercolour paints and to paint with chose the primary yellow with the complementary purple and the adjacent blue-red.
Watercolour suns and moons.
I tried to make different styles. I got carried away with the process rather than sticking to style intentions - the colours and brush seem to take over! But I was more in control with what I intended to do when I painted the two centre watercolour images perhaps. I was thinking of Mary Blair as I had just researched her work.
These images are totally different to what I normally do - so it is good to be confronted with trying something else. Thanks, Amaryllis!
