An unexpected benefit of the class was revisiting old pads of painting exercises and challenges and finding new ways to use them. As you can see it was easy to rapidly generate a whole load of images and maybe even ideas for future projects. Collage doesn't come naturally to me so this was a really interesting exercise in getting myself to see or think in a more collage-y way.

PS, not going to share the profile photo of me these are loosely based on, I may have taken advantage of artistic licence to roll back the ravages of time and too much cake :D Though I did originally think it would be interesting to try to play with the age or gender based on the same starting point, but I haven't yet tried that.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I think this one is my favourite. Makes me think of owls or lions.

Line art - I can see the potential, but need to get a bit more imaginative with the hair.

Without tracing, a bit more free and easy plus adding weird colour just for fun.

Double advantage here - reuse of old projects and the head can cover up elements I may not have liked :). I do like the idea of going through some of your other classes to generate elements to use in a collage.
