Watercolored Quilted Pear

I enjoyed the research, explorations and experiments I did enroute to completing this project.

Now that it's done, I can say for certain that I would prefer to watercolor a traditional, wonky or modern quilt block more than a pixelated pear and I plan on doing that!

This project provided a great opportunity to revisit my thoughts and practices related to hues, values, tone and form. I think watercoloring a pixelated landscape, seascape or cityscape would work better than a pixelated form/object.

Here is the page where I tested my colors, as I worked, before putting them on a pear. As you can see from my pear triptych, not all the colors on the test paper made it to a pear.
