I especially love your cheeks; the pale pink tone is a beautiful hue and how you then painted it in these swirly strokes that lightly come through in the circle shape. Really beautiful. Thank you, Sharon! I am trying to practice faces this month and I’m enjoying the process. It is hard to resist trying to push watercolor around instead of letting it go its thing. Hence, the swirly brushstrokes.

You can see from the sketchbook that I did this on the back of a watercolor paper (Strathmore Visual Journal). The texture is different than the front side of the paper. I’m not sure if this side is meant to be painted on, but it worked just fine.
