Hi Joanna, following up on my insta message to tell you how much I loved your work. Now that I've looked at it closely and read your description I must say I am even more impressed because...it turns out you've used 8 x 10 paper - which is smaller than my original. But you still managed to get all the details perfectly and that's amazing! I think you've captured the pinks and magentas on the flowers perfectly and I loved the outlines. This is exactly the technique I practice! I see what you mean though - the dark purple stands out a bit on some of the petals that are in the shadow. I actually don't mind it because it's more decorative looking. But there are two ways to enhance this and make it work with other colors. 1) At the moment this deep purple appears only on a few flower petals (flower on top right and a few petals at the bottom). You can either apply the same purple pigment with the same saturation on other flower petals (throughout the branch); this way it would be more consistent and cohesive overall. 2) Alternatively you can "tone it down" but applying Quinacridone Red on top. This will make it even darker and, again, you would need to do this on other flowers to maintain the same intensity throughout the branch. But it would help tone down the blue. In both cases, I would try and make the branch darker with the same purple pigment - again to tie it all together...I hope this suggestion makes sense. Otherwise i wouldn't change a thing - this is fantastic work. And as I can see from your insta you've been painting a diverse range of subjects - all are vibrant and well executed. I found it quite challenging, so it was a lot of fun to paint. I feel like my blossom are not perfect - I think I went too dark on some flowers. Let me know If you think I should improve something.&nbsp;
