Visuals for Estate d'Espoir

Visuals for Estate d'Espoir - student project

Hi Ilya,

I would like to share the visuals I've created for Estate d'Espoir, a charitable wine company.

Positioning Statement:

"We produce and sell quality wines that will warm your heart and will be the perfect accompaniment for your special moments. At the same time our wines provide a better life to war refugees because we donate our proceeds to charities that improve the living circumstances in refugee camps.

We believe in a dignified life for everybody and want to let you share in the joy of helping. We know that one small act of kindness can have an effect beyond our imagination."

Values:

High quality - Kindness - Dignity - Hope

I've chosen to use gradients for the logo symbol because it looks fancier on the wine bottles. I've used the same gradients in some backgrounds too.

The gold color refers to the high quality and the blue to the hope. So depending on what the visual is about I'm using more gold or more blue.

Do you have suggestions to make this better? Please could you let me know if there is anything that doesn't work so I'll know what to work on?

Thanks so much!

Mariko

--- UPDATE ----

1. For the icon at small size, I tried the following:

The icon seems the most recognizable on the light background (and that's also the most consistent with the other applications). And since the gradient is lost anyway at small size I decided to go with the last option.

2. For the header fonts, I'm now using the same font with the same thickness and always in small caps.

Do you think it's better now?

--- UPDATE 2 ----

My brand presentation: PDF

I would love to share my brand presentation for Estate d'Espoir. Your courses are really awesome and I tried to apply as much as I could to make this presentation. Please could you advise me if there is anything you think I should have done differently?

This time I did all the preparation (pages 3 - 17) before I started to sketch and it does make much more sense. It actually felt great to do this.

I would like to ask a question about the moodboards. For my previous presentation you said that there was a disconnect between the 2 moodboards I had and the final concept (colours, typography imagery etc). And that I should try to make them more easily distinguishable from each other.

I think I did manage to make the moodboards distinguishable whilst still fit well in the wine industry. And I chose the second look and feel for this brand. However I don't know if you think it's connected enough with the final. I really tried to think well about the moodboards and I did use the same font style (though a different font) for the final. I did try to stick with the colors too but ended up with lighter blue and gold instead of the yellow and dark blue that I had in the moodboard. I did keep the imagery.

I think if this were for a real client, I would show them the preparation and the moodboards before starting to sketch. And I would tell them the moodboards help them to decide which look and feel fits best but that it's not completely defined yet. So that I would know that we're on the same page but that I still have some freedom to improve/modify this look. Because I feel I'm not able to do a moodboard that will completely reflect the brand before I design the logo and other visuals.

So what I wanted to ask is if that is a good way of working with the moodboards? Or how do you do it?

Thanks so much and I'm looking forward to your feedback!
