Urbansketching in Venice !

There’s a special kind of magic in stopping where everyone else is rushing past. 🎨

A folding stool, a small sketchbook, a tin of watercolors and a handful of colored pencils. That’s all it takes to turn an ordinary street corner into an hour of pure presence.

Watercolor goes first: loose, wet, a little unpredictable. It catches the light on a façade, the grey-blue of the sky, the warm glow of a café awning. Then the pencils come in to tell the details: the crooked window, the bike leaning on a lamppost, the texture of old brick.

What I love most? You don’t just look at a place, you see it. The wobbly lines, the paint that ran where it wasn’t supposed to, the drop of rain on the page... they all become part of the memory. No photo has ever given me that.

And the best surprise: the people. The curious kid, the neighbor who tells you the story of the building, the passerby who says “I wish I could draw.” (You can. Start messy. Start today.)

No perfect sketches here, only moments I truly lived. ✏️💧
