First I found an image on google of a toucan and traced over him.

I came up with this flat vector form of the toucan just using shapes.

 

 

After that, I used textured made from the paint. I placed a framed style texture in the background and also stacking many of different textures to make it playful. I used blending modes with multiply  so the textures can blend onto the colors.

 

 

FINAL TOUCHES FOR FUN

Added some type and overlayed 1 texture over the top of the whole piece just to add more details
