I used a scrap of stretch velvet to make this one so you can't see any of the stitch details in the photo. They do look great in person though. The velvet was challenging; I don't think I'd recommend it for your first one for sure. I had one great tip: I used cream colored foam and it showed at the edges of the wings. But I just used a black sharpie to color the edges of the foam. It worked perfectly!
