Was fortunate enough to catch this moment on a very grey day in the Lower East Side, right as the sad umbrella person was sauntering by in the background.

Behind me is a nightclub (likely where the 30th birthday took place the night before), but I chose to look the other way and frame the shot against a contrasting backdrop, to make the viewer ask questions.

I also tried to incorporate some layering of visual elements into the photo to add to the intrigue.
