Going in I knew that I wanted to create texture in my piece, so I used black watercolor and a size 6 round paintbrush after sketching out some ideas.

Here are the two phrases that I ended up using:

 

 

In addition to texture I wanted to suggest movement and a whisky, freeing emotional prompt. I made a few mistake with the crossbar on the word, "flight," so I fixed it up in Photoshop. I created a few different color version in Photoshop, but here's the final black versions of each:
