Tabitha’s Macrame Bag

This design was a happy accident. I had 50m each of 5mm black cord and 2mm off-white cord. I intended to make a one-colour bag using the class design, but I miscalculated how much I needed to cut (converting measurements for the mm of cord I had on hand), so I did my best with what I had and came up with a new design as I went along.

I have a sun catcher in the window that was behind me, and a rainbow was following along my macrame work. Can you see it in the middle of the cord?

The hardware came from an old purse I wasn't using. I had a few that were falling apart, so I kept the hardware and tossed the rest. Tabitha’s Macrame Bag - image 3 - student project

I wish I’d had enough cord left to do the stitching in black so it would camouflage better, but overall I’m so proud of myself for doing this. It was fun and I definitely want to get more cord and give it another try with the class design. Thank you, Megan!
