Surprised no one has uploaded a class project...
The 1-2 ratio 2 column.
The 1.5-3-2-1 ratio 4 column.
I think that I've learned much more than i'd bargained for and this was a FREE class. This has been an amazingly fun project to work on. Forgive me for not using the provided sample files, I thought i'd branch out on my own. Learning about the grid layout has changed my perspective on layouts overall. I'd dabbled with them mostly basic 2 column work. Breaking down this process and sticking to the grid gives you such freedom for your designs and no matter where you place things (as long as they are within said grid) they just seem to belong.
Now I am sure that statement is incorrect, but aesthetically it seems correct. I am a self taught designer so to me designing is an art and art is subjective.
Thank you Cate for the low down on the grid. My overall justified spacing looks mediocre but I didn't want to spend an eternity playing with the kerning and tracking for this educational project. I'm pretty happy with the design overall and had fun putting this together.
