Space Seal

I used Baohong Masters' Choice 300gsm 100% cotton cold-pressed paper in size 34x23 cm and these tube watercolors:
Daniel Smith - Payne's Gray, Phthalo Blue (GS), Aussie Red Gold, Opera Pink
Schmincke Horadam (Super Granulating) - Deep Sea Blue, Deep Sea Green
Van Gogh - Interference Green
and Talens' White Designer Gouache. (No idea why it's called "Designer" gouache, must be fancy somehow...)
So, I went with colors closer to my heart. I skipped the masking fluid and went with just gouache splatter instead, both wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry. I also wanted to add some glimmer amongst the orange parts with the Interference Green straight out of the tube while the background was still wet. (I don't know why it's called green because it's more champagne color.) All in all I think this big blob of cuteness turned out pretty well! Some of the orange mixed with the blue and turned green, (duh, naturally,) and went a bit muddy, but other than that everything went well.
I just love seals! After seeing videos of them playing with divers, I just wanna hug them! Shame it's definitely not a good idea, or even legal, for a good reason...
Thank you for the fun class, Charlie! :)
