I had 45 min to paint something before I had to leave and go somewhere.  I found this class and thought I would give it a shot.  I did not have pastels, but I did have a small set of chalks that I used and a piece of cardstock. I didn’t tape it down, so I did not have anywhere to hold onto the paper and since I needed to use my fingers to do the blending, and I was trying to rush, I had quite a mess.  You can see the fingerprints on the side and I didn’t have time to do much with the foreground or to blend the last few strokes in the water.

I do need to venture into this medium a little more as I think I might like it.  The right pastels and the right paper with a blender tool next time for sure.  Beware, If you have never attempted this medium, try to give yourself some time to slow down and do it right!  None the less I love a challenge and I had fun!
