Sketchbook study life on the farm
I'm trying to get into a regular practice of photographing whatever is blooming on our farm and sketching it, quickly, to use later as references for patterns. I love calendula, the many different shapes of foliage, buds, blossoms...and bees. I'm working on not being perfect because loose and imperfect is a thing, right?
Also, the tung oil trees are in bloom right now. I like to sketch with pencil, add shadows with Indian ink watered to 50 and 75% shadow, then watercolor.
Shannon McNab's class has been instrumental in getting me to do the work...again. Thanks, Shannon!
