Shading: Part 4 of The Drawing Laboratory

Thank you, Brent, for an excellent and profound masterclass! This is a great opportunity to revisit the fundamentals of drawing. It's so satisfying to listen to your teaching and actually getting how to draw. I have watched plenty of videos but your instructions are so clear and so on point that nothing else can compare to your course!

What was interesting, that your explanations stick with me and when I was drawing I could remember your voice and what could you say when doing next step in the process of depicting a sphere or a shell.

I have an almost exact sea shell in my garden so it was easier to observe the light and the shadows in real life.

For the first time in my life I started to understand what is the line of termination and difference between the light and highlight.

It also easier now to see the big shapes and separate types of shadows. And so many more details that you explain in depth in your lessons.

I did some practice on grey paper and spent a few hours working on the drawing of the shell.

Now I know why I was carrying it with me while moving from state to state since 2019 when I first found it in the nearby forest.
