I had such fun pulling together this series of portraits.  As you can see, some of them are from decades ago.  These are just the tip of the iceberg.  I had no idea that I had sketched so many portraits.

The portraits are sketched in watercolor, oil, ink, ink and watercolor, pencil, a bit of gouache, and mixed media. The styles range from realistic to semi-abstract.  I find that my hand moves differently depending on what tool and medium I'm using.  The speed at which I work is also quite different depending on tool and medium.  I work extremely quickly with a dip pen, dancing across the paper.  As a result, the lines and marks vary greatly.

Though I was in search of portrait sketches, I discovered close to 100 sketches of vehicles.  I hadn't been aware that so many cars and trucks crept into many of my urban sketches.  You, too, may be pleasantly surprised when you take a look through older sketchbooks.
